Mad About Andy

Thanks to Ryan, my officemate, I discoveredAndy McKee. We -- together with Mau, another friend of mine --were driving back to Makati from our very first fruitful Year-End Party presentation practice and a certain song which I already liked from the intro started playing.
But it was cut short when Ryan, decided to move on to the next track. Being the music buff that I am, I started asking him about the title of the songs that he was briefly playing --briefly, since all I actually heard were intros..hehehe! he was, I think looking for some particular track so he just kept on moving from one song to the next. -- I was making a mental note to search and download them with the aid of my very recent best friend, the internet..hehehe!

Then he mentioned about Andy Mckee, a guy who has such an extraordinary way of playing the guitar. Ryan said that he just learned about Andy Mckee from YouTube, and that all Andy plays are instrumental. That kinda shook off my interest in his music a bit. You see, I'm more of a music AND lyrics kind of person. Instrumentals for me are for spa and chilling at the beach kind of thing. Not the usual stuff that I'd enjoy listening to when I'm at work, because it would make me feel sleepy and it would just make me wish that I'm some place else..hehehe!
But I decided to check Andy Mckee's music out anyway, and boy, I'm sure glad I did.
I mean, I love him already!! =D and he is definitely going to work with me. =D

Here check it out... this is Andy McKee's Drifting and it's one of my favorites (the others being the rest of Andy McKee's works..hehehe!) Enjoy!!

Thinking Out Loud

We recently had broadband installed and I've been a certified internet addict since then. Believe me, if I could surf the net 24/7 I would..hehehe!

One of my frequent destinations, and my favorite at that, is of course Friendster. I'd upload photos, edit my profile, search for friends and browse friends' profiles, especiallythose I receive updates from. As I check them out, I noticed that 9 out of 10 profiles indicate MARRIED as the status. Wow, and I mean wow...people are really getting married...not just some ordinary people..but people I know, people I grew up with..people I'm close to..people who are my friends.

Sometimes, I still can't get used to the idea. Don't get me wrong, I do get excited for my friends who are stepping into marital bliss and I am really happy for them. It's just that you know, sometimes I just tend to forget that at this stage of our lives, the next logical step would be to get married, have a family and have a life of our own.

Minsan kasi, feeling ko ang bata ko pa..hehehe! I still feel I'm only 22...hehehe! I feel no pressure at all that people around me are already getting married while I remain unattached. But sometimes, I just feel like unti unti na akong naiiwan. I know being single doesn't mean you are alone..I know I'm not. But sometimes I feel I am. Parang nauubusan na ako ng makakasama, ng makaka hang out. Everybody seems to be taking big steps, whether it'd be in relationships or careers or life in general... while I remain taking small ones.

Oh well, I guess, the time has not yet come for me.
Sana lang... I can stop waiting.

Used To Be

I was going through YouTube.. Looking for clips from Lois and Clark
Then I ran into this mtv clip with the song Used To Be. I liked the way it sounded so I downloaded it without minding the lyrics. When I finished downloading, I listened to it again and caught this line...

"You always had the right thing to say"

Memories of my dear friend Marks came flooding back and tears started rolling down my cheeks...

He did always had the right things to say...
He knew how to comfort and cheer me up when I'm down..
He knew how to psyche me up and cheer me on when I'm at the verge of giving up..
He knew how to pacify me when I'm all stressed up with things at work..
He knew how to make me feel so special...

No matter how bad my day was, all of it seem to vanish the moment I see or talk to him..
But now he's gone...and ever since he passed away.. some things just weren't the same with me again..

I miss Marks..badly..and although I have started to move on, deep within me...I still long to be with him again..there are even times when I wish that he was still here and
that we can get everything back to how it used to be.....

Hey Marks...wherever you are.. I hope you have your iPod.. cause this one's for you..

Use To

You used to talk to me like
I was the only one around.
You used to lean on me like
The only other choice was falling down.
You used to walk with me like
We had nowhere we needed to go,
Nice and slow, to no place in particular.

We used to have this figured out;
We used to breathe without a doubt.
When nights were clear, you were the first star that I'd see.
We used to have this under control.
We never thought.
We used to know.
At least there's you, and at least there's me.
Can we get this back?
Can we get this back to how it used to be?

I used to reach for you when
I got lost along the way.
I used to listen.
You always had just the right thing to say.
I used to follow you.
Never really cared where we would go,
Fast or slow, to anywhere at all.

We used to have this figured out;
We used to breathe without a doubt.
When nights were clear, you were the first star that I'd see.
We used to have this under control.
We never thought.
We used to know.
At least there's you, and at least there's me.
Can we get this back?
Can we get this back to how it used to be?

I look around me,
And I want you to be there
'Cause I miss the things that we shared.
Look around you.
It's empty, and you're sad
'Cause you miss the love that we had.

You used to talk to me like
I was the only one around,
The only one around.

We used to have this figured out;
We used to breathe without a doubt.
When nights were clear, you were the first star that I'd see.
We used to have this under control.
We never thought.
We used to know.
At least there's you, and at least there's me.
Can we get this back?
Can we get this back to how it used to be? Yeah.
To how it used to be.
To how it used to be, yeah.
To how it used to be.
To how it used to be.
